What to Expect:
The Bad Axe Workshop is a new one day event at the Forge. It is an additional opportunity to shed the shackles of complacency and do the work required to become a better man. This is a stand alone event that builds on our mission to make men who fight for what matters. It is not required that you have completed a Weekend Advance to attend, but you will want to make plans to do so. Our core message is established in the Weekend Advance.
It is one thing to enter into the battles of life. It is another to be well prepared to win. This is a one day workshop during which you will be challenged and equipped to develop your skills so that you can be a sharper, more effective instrument in the hands of God. By your hands, you will forge an axe in the style of a tomahawk. At the end of the day, we will have a throwing competition with the axes that we have made. It will be a fantastic day of spiritual and physical work!
You must be in reasonable physical health to participate, be able to stand for long periods of time and swing a 2-3lbs hammer repeatedly. Blacksmithing is a dangerous activity. You must sign a liablility waiver upon arrival in order to be able to participate. You must follow all safety instructions. Anyone not following safety instructions is subject to be dismissed without refund.
Check in for the workshop will be at 8am. We will conclude around 5pm.
What to Bring:
- Closed toe shoes
- Clothing appropriate for any weather condition. We will be outside for the throwing competition.
- All safety gear will be provided, but if you have personal gloves, glasses, etc that you prefer, bring them. They will be your responsibility.
