WEEKEND ADVance

welcome to your
spiritual advance.

What is the weekend advance?

The Forge is not a retreat. It is a spiritual advance. We will be working hard physically and spiritually over the course of the weekend. You must be in reasonable physical health to participate in the weekend advance. You must be able to stand for extended periods of time and swing a 2-3 lbs hammer repeatedly. The Forge Advance happens in a small group environment of 12 men or less. We believe that friendship is key to a mans ability to advance. We are going to invest in one another and your willingness to do so is essential to your growth and the growth of others. You will have the opportunity to create bonds during this weekend that could last a lifetime. You will be challenged spiritually. This will not be a passive experience. We will work and live and learn together with the intention of becoming better men who honor God, build up others and impact eternity.

Whats in store

You will stay in the Deer Blind, a small off grid cabin and bunkhouse in the beautiful red pine woods. It will be a rustic and comfortable environment with bathroom facilities. Full meals will be provided on Saturday and Sunday morning. You should plan to eat on Friday prior to arrival though snacks will be available on Friday.

Forging a knife is a dangerous activity. You will be working with forges burning at 2,000 degrees. You will be handling red hot steel. You will be swinging hammers. You will be grinding your blades. Following all safety instructions is essential for your safety and the safety of others. You must sign a waiver. You must take personal responsibility for your safety. Anyone not following all safety procedures are subject to being dismissed from the weekend without refund.
